Hi guys!!
Tonight I have swatches for one of breast cancer awareness polishes. Well, actually it's two polishes! It's a Pink of Hearts duo set by OPI. Last year they came out with the same concept, a creme and glitter pink polishes for the set. This year's pink creme is Pink-ing You. It is actually part of their core collection, and I'm glad that I don't have it yet in my stash. The glitter polish is More Than A Glimmer, this is a limited edition polish and only being sold with the set.
Pink-ing of You is a medium pink shade. I honestly can't say that this is a non streak polish, but the finish result makes it worth the trouble. After 3 thin coats, I still find it uneven, so I added a fourth coat to even it out. My mistake is probably using thin coats. Next time I'll use medium coats, that's usually works well for me. This has a very glossy finish. My swatch here is without top coat.

More Than A Glimmer is a sheer pink base polish packed with pink, blue, and silver matte glitters. It dries to a matte finish and I really like the matte look better. I have swatches both with and without top coat. It can be worn on its own, but it takes several coats to get full coverage.

I know 4 coats and 2 coats of top coat seems a lot of layer. But if you use thin coats, it dries really quickly and doesn't look or feel thick at all. But I personally like it layered over pink, or maybe some other color :). The set came with 10 pink ribbon and crystal decal. I haven't used it yet, because I'm planning to do something else with them later.
My Pink of Heart set was purchased from Nail Polish Canada.

You make the swatch look so pretty. It's a shame that the soft pretty pinks seem to have crappy formulas. Three coats is my limit, if it still looks uneven at that point, then it's just pointless for me. I have Chic From Ears to Tail and at one point I did four coats with it and it still didn't even out.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, this time my pics show how they look perfectly! It is THAT pretty in person. About the pink, I'm questioning my applying skill, lol. I think I could do it with just 2 medium coats, but have to wait a little bit longer between coat.
DeleteThat pink looks SO gorgeous with your skin tone. It's a really pretty glitter too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa! I think it looks flattering too, which doesn't happen very often to me with soft pinks like this :)
