Glam Polish Knockout Collection Part 2 - Swatches & Review (partial)

Hi guys! Do you remember earlier this year Glam Polish released the Knockout Collection, a collection of 6 with super sparkly micro glitter and ultra holo finish? Of course you do. I was drooling super hard over them, and they made it onto my wish list after this no-buy ended. Well, if the first one was good, the Knockout Collection part 2 is even better! This collection consists of four ultra holo shades and five ultra holo glitter.

Below I have a brief description of all 9 shades, and swatches of 3 of them after the jump.
SMASH! - Red Ultra Holo.
ZOOM! - Bright Blue Ultra Holo.
WOOSH! Lavender Ultra Holo.
THWAAK! - Black Ultra Holo.
WHAM! - Sterling Silver Holo with Ultra Holo Glitter.
BOING! - Lilac Holo with Ultra Holo Glitter.
POP! - Peach Holo with Ultra Holo Glitter.
KRUNCH! Purple Holo with Ultra Holo Glitter.
Zonk! Teal Holo with Ultra Holo Glitter.

Don't you just love the names in this collection?! Other than just a one-word name, the nerd in me fantasize that I'm a superhero fighting villains in style with my uber sparkly nails. Lol!

Pop!
Peach Holo with Ultra Holo Glitter
This bright peach is perfect in two coats. It leans a bit of orange on me, and looks brighter on nails than in the bottle. Shown with 1 coat of top coat.

This ultra sparkly brightlilac shade with a touch of pink also covers perfectly in two coats. Love this!! Shown with 1 coat of top coat.

Whoosh!
Lavender Ultra Holo.
This one has more holo effect than these pics are showing you, very pretty even in indoor lighting. Shown 3 thin coats and top coat.

I have no issues at all with all three shades, formula and application were perfect, these are something that you can always rely on from Glam Polish. The glitter shades only needed 1 coat of top coat for smooth finish.

All 9 shades will be available from www.glampolish.com.au on May 6th, 2015, 6pm EST. Shipping will be available to Australia and USA. Shipping rate to USA is USD 3.50 for the first polish and USD 1.00 for each additional bottle.

Glam Polish In Summer

Happy hump day! Today I decided to knock out another untried from my list. It's a good thing to have a long list of untried when you're in a long no-buy like me, I can still shop around in my own stash and find something that I forgot I had.

In Summer is a super cute white crelly with a mix of glitter colours that's perfect for spring. I used 3 thin coats, but you'd get full coverage in just 2 coats. I really love this, I don't even want to cover it up with any nail art! For now..

KBShimmer Spring 2015: Sweet Egg-scape, Funky Cold Patina, & Blush Money

Hi all! For my Monday post, I'm sharing 3 new shades from KBShimmer Spring 2015 collection. This collection consists of 12 shades, all perfect for the upcoming season and Easter! There are several finish polishes in this collection, 1 cream, 1 shimmery holo, 3 ultra holo, and 7 crelly glitter.
This collection will be released on February 6, 2015 at Harlow & Co. (worldwide), and directly from KBShimmer (US only).

Sweet Egg-scape
A pale, bubblegum pink polish. Glitters like, pastel aqua star glitters, coral triangles, lavender dots, red squares and sliver holo hexes swim among the pink base like a decorated Easter egg.

This one is super cute! The glitter combination in the pale pink are just perfect. You can wear this for Valentine's day or Easter, fits right in. Great formula and glitter pay off, no fishing required. The formula is a tiny bit thick, but nowhere near goopy and still easy to apply. I used 2 thin coats and 1 medium coat plus top coat.
KBShimmer Funky Cold Patina

Funky Cold Patina
Like a long forgotten ancient copper statue turned blue green in color, this polish features a cool turquoise green base, with pops of metallic copper, blue and purple.

A fresh green shade, I liked it much better on my nails than when I first looked at the bottle. The formula is easy to work with, but a bit too opaque that the second/third layer could drawn the glitter underneath and lose the squishy finish you usually get from a crelly glitter. I recommend using thin coats with this. I used 3 thin coats plus top coat.

Blush Money
Based on the 2015 Pantone Color, Strawberry Ice, this peachy-rose colored polish shows off gold shimmer indoors and a linear holographic rainbow shines while outside.

I love this shade on me! This is a peach shade that would look flattering on any skin tone. The gold shimmer comes out beautifully when the lights hit it. Another great formula, I used 3 thin coats plus top coat. But for short nails, 2 coats should be enough.

So, which one is going on your list? :) Don't forget to mark your calendar, February 6, 2015 at Harlow & Co. and KBShimmer website.

KBShimmer (part of) Winter Collection - Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! Today I have swatches of some of the polishes from KBShimmer Winter 2014 collection, Katie from Harlow & Co. was kind enough to sent me these to review. From the swatches I have seen, I'm loving quite a few of the crelly glitter from this collection. I have 2 crelly glitter and 2 textured glitter to share with you.

Mauve on Over, is a light mauve crelly base filled with orange, aqua, and navy glitter. I really like the formula in this one. Thin but not too thin that it would flood your cuticles, the glitter distribution is even and effortless. I used 3 thin coats for my swatches, and 1 coat of Clearly on Top.

Let's Sleigh Together, a pale gray crelly filled with green and blue hexes. I really liked this one when I first opened the package. For me, application was not as smooth and easy as the other KBShimmer crelly I have, but I still like the end result. I didn't get enough glitter on the brush (even after mixing the bottle with a tooth pick) as I would've liked. I use 4 thin coats and top coat here. The formula is thin but applies easily and the amount of coats I used doesn't make it look thick at all.

Dressed to Gild, this is another one from KBShimmer textured line. It's loaded with tons of gold holographic glitter, and hints of purple and green glitter which make it look even better! I only used 2 coats here, easy application even with the super loaded glitter, that's pretty amazing. Here's the textured look.

Turnip the Beet, another textured polish in the collection. It's a berry pink base loaded with magenta, purple, and red glitter. Also opaque in 2 coats. Top coat really brings the sparkles alive in this one, but it also seem to make it look a bit less opaque. I really like this one with a matte top coat. Below is the textured look.

NoTD: Cirque Glittery Nail Art

Hi guys! I have a simple nail art for my nail of the day, filled with glittery goodness from Cirque Glitter Gift Set. I will have a review up for this set very soon! In the mean time, I hope you enjoy this :)
I'm really liking the dark border on my index and ring nails, but obviously I'm not very good at it yet. I think when done right, it looks very flattering on round/oval shape nails. The glitter gradient on the bordered nails are with Cirque Ica Valley, Stella, and Chainmail. I used only Chainmail on my thumb and pinkie. The glitter on my middle nail are a mixed from Lullaby, XX, and Magic Hour. The black base is Cirque Memento Mori, which is now my favorite black creme.

No matter how much I hated the clean up, the end result is worth it. It's probably not the best idea to do this so late at night, I feel these look sloppy! Oh well, they're not perfect, but I like it :)
