Blue Marbles with piCture pOlish Forget Me Not

Today is a special day for me, and the polish I'm wearing today quite represent it, especially by the story behind it. It's Forget Me Not, a gorgeous blue with scattered holo flakes created by piCture pOlish in collaboration with Kate, from Lacquertude blog. You can read all about what inspired her and her gorgeous swatches in this post.

Knowing me, you don't think I'd be wearing this plain, do you? :p I created a marbled look with regular water marble technique using Forget Me Not and a white polish (OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls). Whenever I do a water marble, I always try to make a uniform design on each nails as much as I can. But this time I dunk my nails in a different spot every time in order to get the marble look.

Here's a swatch of Forget Me Not on its own. It's really stunning!

Oh, by the way, today is my 3 years anniversary with the bf. See what I mean that this is the perfect polish for the day? ;)

Subtle Watermarble

Oh hey, it's already Friday again?! Well, I'm wearing a fun sparkly mani today. Perfect for the sunny weather we have today. I'm using two Glam Polish shades I'm Through with Love and Bye Bye Baby to create this look, with addition squiggly vinyls from Beyond The Nail and for the water marble, I used OPI Pinking of You and OPI top coat for the clear part.

NoTD: OPI Watermarble & Gradient

Hi everyone! Are you ready for a long weekend? I sure do, even though we might just be staying in and watching netflix, I'm good with that.
I'm on a nail art block lately, but didn't feel like rocking a plain nails. So I turn to a simple water marble nails, I haven't done one in a while and I don't have to think much other than finding a colour combo, perfect. I randomly picked 3 OPI cremes, a mix of summer and fall shades, and they spread wonderfully!

The OPI shades I used are Miss Youniverse, You are So Outta Lime, Sorry I'm Fizzy Today. I did water marble on two nails and gradient of the same colours on my pinkie and index.

Sunday Watermarble

Hey there! It has been quite a while since I posted a water marble mani, hasn't it? I wanna say it feels like riding a bike, but I wouldn't know cause I can't ride a bike haha! It feels easier when you are doing it often, but after a long pause like this I had worried. Is the water ok? Will the polish spread? How did I do that pattern I did before?
So I just picked out 3 random polishes that caught my eye first and pray that they work, and they did! Beautifully, if I might add. I don't want to take these off.

The water marble was done over a white base. I used Picture Polish Totes and Chillax, and OPI Funky Dunkey. Top coated with Glisten & Glow HK Girl

Flower & Nimbus Nails

Hi guys!

Today's mani is a combination of water marble and my first try on Nailasaurus Nimbus nails. They don't look anywhere near as cool as Sammy's, but I still like it!
My watermarble is with Butter London Cake-Hole, Giddy Kipper, and Nicole by OPI Stand by Your Manny, over a white base. I love how the watermarble pattern resembles flower petals.  The nimbus nails are using the same Butter London shades, and I added some sparkles with INM Northern Lights. I sealed off everything with HK Girl top coat, my holy grail top coat.

Have a happy hump day! :)

Watermarble War!

Happy Hump Day!

Yes, today is the day for another watermarble post. For all my new readers, a while ago I decided to have a segment every Wednesday, and I call it Watermarble Wednesday. Although sometimes life get in the way and I missed one here and then.
And why am I calling this post a war? Well, today for some reason watermarble just doesn't like me! It took WAY longer for me to get this mani done. It's like they know that I haven't been doing it often lately and now they're making work for it. But I still came out as a winner! *throw fist in the air* well, at least for most of the nails. They don't all look as neat as I liked them to be, and I'm already getting a headache from the fumes.

As usual, I started with a white base, here I use OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls. For the watermarble I use all OPI shades, Miss You-niverse, Suzi's HUngary again, My Vampire is buff, and for the last drop I use Dutch Ya Just Love OPI?.

That's it for today! Hope you liked it ;)

Diabetes Day Watermarble With Girly Bits Off The Scale

Hi guys!

Today is world's diabetes day, and it's something I can relate to. My beloved dad had diabetes, so this mani is for him.
The blue polish I chose to use is from Girly Bits, Off The Scale. It's a glitter layering polish that can also be opaque on its own in 3 coats. It has blue glitter as the main color with some purple and green color shifting glitter. Here I'm layering it over OPI Incognito in Sausalito
I also did a watermarble design over it with OPI Alpine Snow and Glisten & Glow Stuck on Blue base coat for the clear polish. It's the first clear polish that spread like a boss for me to use, but it's a little hard to drag to make the design, but I suspect it's the same with most of clear polish (?)

31DC2013 Day 20: Water Marble

Hi guys!!

I'm back for day 20 of the challenge! This is probably the only challenge that I'm comfortable with. Not because I'm a water marble genius like Mucking Fusser or Simple Little Pleasure, but at least I know what to expect when marbling. The only problem maybe picking the polishes to use. For today I used the entire Butter London Color Clash collection for my water marble.
I love how bright they look! These Butter London shades are quite ok to use for marbling, they all spread nicely. But for some reason they dried up pretty quick. I'm not sure if it's the polish or because it's a bit cold in here. It's that kind of weather when it'll be too warm to have the heater on, but kinda cold without it.

It's so fun to see so many water marble mani in one day! :)

Chevron'd Watermarble

Hi guys!

Finally I can get on the computer!! I'm cutting it close to get my Watermarble Wednesday post done. Phew!
I added a little twist to this week's watermarble mani, and I think it worked. Well, at least I like it :p. I used a subtle color for the marble design, OPI Alpine Snow and piCture pOlish Tiffany (see swatches of Tiffany here). Tiffany is one of those shades that's a bit hard to captured. Although the shade is showing pretty close as it is in person, it looks a little washed out here.

After the watermarble process is done, and the top coat is fully dried, I used striping tape to create chevron tips using piCture pOlish Lagoon (see swatches of Lagoon here).

What do you think? The more I look at it, the more I like it! :). All piCture pOlish shades I used here were purchased from Nail Polish Canada. They are also available to purchase from LlaroweHarlow&Co, and directly from Picture Polish

Holographic (fail) Watermarble

Happy watermarble day! (only at colorsfrenzy :p )

Okay, first of all I want to say that I'm not happy with how this watermarble turned out. Not because of the polishes I chose, cause I used awesome polishes. Too awesome I almost feel bad using them for marbling. It's because I wasn't prepared for what I chose :(

I was trying out several different color combo and didn't like any of them. Then I saw my new Colors by Llarowe polish sitting right in front of me. So I grabbed them and just start the process. When I'm about to dunk my nail, then I saw all my nails are already painted white! Black would've made a better base when you marble with holo polish, as it would make the holo effect pop. But I went through with it anyway.. and disappointed that I used these awesome polishes, but didn't create a better mani with them when I could have.

Products used:
OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls (base)
CbL Zipper
CbL Burnt Sugar
Poshe Top Coat

Okay, so it's not so much of a fail in the marbling process. More that I couldn't get the holo to show much because of the white base. Other than that, do you like the color combo here? :)

Chocolate Caramel Nude Watermarble

Happy Hump Day!

I hope you're not sick of seeing another watermarble mani from me! :) For this week's theme, I wanted to do nude shades, but I ended up picking one color that well, can't be considered as nude. But I'm really happy with the outcome. The colors look great together, and have the simplicity look I was going for.

OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls (base)
OPI Bubble Bath
OPI Dulce de Leche

Watermarble Wednesday: Monster Inc. (Sulley) Inspired

It's that day of the week again..

You know, when I'm posting another one of water marble mani. I almost want to pass on doing it this week cause I run out of scotch tape. But I did anyway, and clean up was a pain! Yes, I put on cuticle cream in place of scotch tape, still think it's a pita. Lol!

This week's water marble inspired by my previous post here. I picked out Sulley's color, OPI Can't Find My Czhechbook and Picture Polish Violet Femme. Hope you like it! :)

Watermarble Wednesday: Skittle Style

Hi guys!!

As the title says, today I am showing you another one of my water marble mani :) This must be the most annoying water marble I've done in a long time! Not because I tried to do a unique design or anything fancy, I'm just still not in my zone. First, I didn't get the right water temperature and took a few fail attempts for me to realize that. Had to re-do 3 fingers, and the most amazing of all.. I dropped one of the polish brush I used to the water I used to marble. That has never happened before to me! I just hope that won't ruined the polish :-/

Anyway, let's just move on to the pics! Hope you guys like it, cause I really do! :)

I used 2 different polishes for each nails, listed below:
Thumb: OPI Red My Fortune Cookie & OPI Pink Friday
Index: OPI Eurso..Euro & Zoya Yummy
Middle: Sally Hansen Sun Kissed & Zoya Darcy
Ring: OPI Jade is The New Black & OPI Mermaid's Tears
Pinky: OPI Anti Bleak & OPI Do You Lilac It?
Base: OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls
Top coat: INM Out The Door
