Studded Spiral

Hi guys! Today's mani is a super simple and quick one! I'm wearing a Girly Bits shade called #islandtime, this was part of an LE trio released last year made exclusively for Gloss48. I have swatches of the trio here.
I created 2 accent nails using colour-shifted studs provided by Born pretty Store. You can find the product in this link. There are 3 different sizes, and mine is 1,5mm the smallest one. I attached the studs using the pointy end of an orange wood stick and top coat as the glue. Then I applied shiny top coat for the finishing touch.

This really took less than 10 minutes to get the accent nails done, and they seem to stick quite nicely, and these are the perfect size if you have a slim nail beds like mine!
Don't forget, you can use my code NVG10 for all your purchases at BornPrettyStore.com to get 10% off.

St. Patrick's Day Nails

After taking a long weekend break from my blog, which was unplanned.. I had a nail art post planned out, that I've been wanted to do. Like a series type of post. But just as I sat down and about to start painting, I realized that I'm running really really low on thinner. I use thinner to clean my brush during and after painting. It keeps my brush in a good condition than when using acetone.
And today I'm back with a St. Patrick's Day mani! I didn't do anything too fancy, just a skitlelette and a mix of stamping, gradient, and some quick free hand.

I did a vertical gradient on 2 nails with OPI Christmas Gone Plaid, Zoya Josie, and Picture Polish Tiffany, then painted stack of gold on the tips with OPI Goldeneye and L.A.M.B.
On my ring finger, I wear Girly Bits Selfie Bomb, stamped with a four leaf clover image from BM-H05 (Thanks Nail Polish Canada!). Free hand vertical rainbow stripes on my pinkie with gold frame.
My favorite I think is my thumb. I use Glam Polish Elixir, and painted four leaf clover design using Winstonia Kolinsky brush #0000 and OPI Christmas Gone Plaid.

What's your favorite greens to wear on St. Patrick'd Day? I posted mine on instagram :)

Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate Review - BP-L 004

Hi guys! Today I have another stamping plate review from Born Pretty Store. I created a stamping decal using one of the designs from plate BP-L 004, which you can find in this link, and you can use my code NVG10 to take 10% off your purchase.

I cannot say this for every single design on this plate, since I haven't tried them all. But the one I used picked up really easy. I used Mundo de Unas Black and Konad stamper.
The plate has 21 designs, on a rectangular plate with a pink plastic backing and paper sleeve.
The plate measurement is 12cmx6cm. The plastic backing add 1cm to the total measurement, 13cmx7cm. The design size is 1,5cmx1,7cm. The width is more than enough to fit my nails, even the thumb. The height is just enough for my current length, and a bit short to fit my thumb.
I used the design on the top row, far right.
I used more than a dozen polishes for this decals, I started with 7 polishes and find myself going back and forth to my melmer for more polish. I added half moon design after I put on the decals, wanted to use glitter instead of dots around the moon but couldn't find anything I like for it.
Here's a list of polishes I used, by brands:
A England: Encore Margot, GLoriana, Fotheringhay Castle
Glam Polish: Fantasies Come True, Whirlwind, Polar Lights, Below Zero
Girly Bits: Our Lips are Sealed, Selfie Bomb, Mint-al Precision.
OPI: My Signature is DC
Picture Polish: Monroe, Tail Feather, Whimsy, Cyan, Kryptonite, Forget Me Not

I'm really loving this mani. So colorful and sparkly! My kind of nails :)

**Stamping plate was sent for my honest review

Tape Mani w/ Glam Polish Fantasies Come True & Girly Bits Selfie Bomb

Happy Friday! I'm sharing what I planned to be my weekend mani, but now I'm not sure if I want to keep them.
I used Girly Bits Selfie Bomb, from my untried stash, and paired it with Glam Polish Fantasies Come True, with some striping tape to do the design. It wasn't inspired by anything, I just went with what's in my head, so I don't really know what to call this, haha.

I have to admit, the only reason I still have these on is because it took a while to get these done. I have a love and hate relationship with striping tape, but I keep coming back to it, that's the love part I guess, lol. Have a great weekend guys!

Girly Bits Vegas LE Exclusive - Swatches

Hey there! Today I have two lovely Girly Bits polishes to show you. They are the two Limited Edition shades created for the 2014 Cosmoprof North America trade show, that's now no longer available for sale (sorry!), but I can still share the pretty swatches, right?

In my attempt to minimize the clutter on my desk from the untried polishes, I stored these pretty in the drawer before trying them, and then forgot about them! I think I need a designated untried box or drawer so this won't happen again.

Anyway, swatches..

What happens in Vegas...ends up on Facebook, this is a re-release shade from 2013 Cosmoprof event. It's a beautiful dusty purple shimolo with iridescent micro glitters and shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and top coat.

What happens in Vegas...ends up on Instagram, this was created exclusively for Sparkle & Wine - a blogger/brand/stockist event co-hosted by Girly Bits and KBShimmer at Mandalay Bay while we were attending Cosmoprof North America in Las Vegas this year. It is a bright raspberry shade with scattered holo effect with pink and purple micro glitter. Very sparkly! I used 2 coats and top coat.

Girly Bits Mint-al Precision

Hi guys! Today I have a new Girly Bits polish to share with you. It's one of the new collaboration shade created for Tiffany from Polished to Precision on her first blogaversary. You totally should check out her post for this shade (and others, she does amazing swatches of a lot of mainstream & indie brands) HERE.

One thing that I totally agreed from her post, well no, two things actually. That this is a gorgeous shade and it's a royal pain to photograph. No matter what setup I used, the pics keep showing it more blue when it's really not this blue. You definitely will see the green shade in person. I promise.
Mint-al Precision is an aqua mint shimmer filled with blue-green shifting flakes. The formula is a tad on the thick side for me, but still easy to apply. I used 3 thin coats and top coat here.

Press Release: Girly Bits Vegas Inspired Collection, Two Vegas LE Exclusives, Two Blogger Collaborations

Girly Bits Cosmetics Announces The Release Of A Vegas Inspired Collection, Two Vegas Limited Edition Exclusives And Two Blogger Collaborations

Product Release date: Thursday, August 21st at 12noon EDT
Individual Product Price: $12.00 each
What Really Happened In Vegas Collection Price: $48.00 (set of 4) ~ SHOP EARLY AND SAVE
~ only $44.00 (set of 4) until Sunday August 31st at 3pm EDT
What Really Happened in Vegas is a collection of 4 polishes inspired by memorable things that happened while we were in Vegas this year for the Cosmoprof North America trade show. We had the pleasure of meeting many amazing bloggers and brands, and had the best time laughing, chatting about the ‘biz’ and forming amazing friendships. Of course when you gather a group of women, and add a glass or two of wine… well let’s just say there was a lot of silliness, some of which inspired the names for these 4 polishes.
Too Hot For Pants
Too Hot For Pants is a glowy fuchsia-red jelly, loaded with red and fuchsia shimmer and holo micro glitter. Lit from within! Just like us while in Vegas.
I am Canadian. I am used to hot, humid, sticky summer weather. Vegas is a dry heat. But it is still HEAT. And it was definitely too hot for pants. Thank goodness for maxi dresses!

Selfie Bomb
Selfie Bomb is a sparkly gold holo micro glitter shimmer combination accented with pink and lavender microglitter.
Selfie Bomb was inspired by a moment at the Sparkle & Wine event, when Linda from Nail Vinyls was attempting to take a picture of me and Missi from Different Dimension using her phone. Missi and I put on our best glam faces for Linda, as she raised her phone for the perfect shot. What she didn’t realise, is that she had flipped the camera app to take a selfie and basically selfie bombed our picture.

Protect Your Girly Bits
Protect Your Girly Bits is a purple scattered holographic polish, accented with flashes of red micro glitter.
Since we were co-hosting an event at Mandalay Bay, we had a fair amount of polish there with us, and between shopping and receiving samples we somehow end up leaving with more than we came with. I did bring a fair amount of packing materials with me but I ran out, so I had to do some creative packing to be able to ship everything home. I just happened to have some… umm…left over feminine hygiene products with me that I no longer needed, and no room in my suitcase to bring home any way. Thank you Always®, for being the perfect size to wrap around a bottle of polish and protect my Girly Bits!!

Accidental PPV
Accidental Pay Per View is a silver holographic polish, accented with glowy blue shimmer and a subtle turquoise flash.
Three polish makers, who shall remain unnamed to protect the innocent, were sharing a room while in Vegas and one evening among wine and pedicures on tired feet, they were channel surfing for something fun to watch. Somehow, they accidentally clicked on a pay per view channel and next thing you know they had subscribed to watch a movie. Not so bad, except the type of movie they accidentally ordered is not exactly the type of movie you want showing up on your hotel bill. Ooops! XXX

What Happens In Vegas...Ends Up On Instagram
What Happens in Vegas….Ends up on Instagram is a bright raspberry-fuchsia scattered holographic polish, with flashes of glowy purple micro glitter, and bright pink micro glitter. Very flashy and blingy, just like Vegas.
WHIVEUOIG was created exclusively for Sparkle & Wine - a blogger/brand/stockist event co-hosted by Girly Bits and KBShimmer at Mandalay Bay while we were attending Cosmoprof North America in Las Vegas this year. It will be available for a limited time ONLY (Aug 21-31)
We are also re-launching last year’s exclusive Cosmoprof NA polish for a limited time. (Aug21-31)

What Happens In Vegas...Ends Up On Facebook (Relaunch)
What Happens in Vegas…Ends up on Facebook is a medium plummy holographic polish, with flashes of glowy purple microglitter.
WHIVEUOFB was created exclusively for bloggers we met while attending Cosmoprof North America in 2013. It was released in limited quantity, and quickly sold out. We are bringing it back for a limited time ONLY (Aug 21-31)

Seriously Sassy
Seriously Sassy is a collaboration polish with Sassy Shelly, for her 2 year blog anniversary.
It is a royal purple jelly, with blue to purple colour shifting glitter.

Mint-al Precision
Mint-al Precision is a collaboration polish with Polished To Precision for her 1 year blog anniversary.
It is an aqua-mint shimmer, loaded with green and blue shifting flakes.

Girly Bits Our Lips are Sealed

Today I have another untried Girly Bits from the latest collection 80's Girl Bands, Our Lips are Sealed. I have had this on since yesterday, and I think this has become one of my favorite pinks! I don't have that many pinks that I'm really in love with, since most pinks seem to look weird on my skin tone.
From the creator's description, Our Lips are Sealed is a fluorescent pink shimolo, pink holographic with violet and silver shimmer, and silver holo sparks.
The formula is pretty great, although you might want to do less strokes on the first coat. I found that doing more strokes than needed on the same spot causes bald spots easily. However, the second coat self level really nice and fixed whatever patchy spots I had in the first coat. I used three thin coats and top coat.

Girly Bits Our Lips are Sealed

Girly Bits Our Lips are Sealed
This pink looks almost neon against my skin tone, and made me realize how tan I am now! My pictures here really don't do this polish justice. Under the sun, all the sparkles come out to distract you, the holo effect is not the in your face type, but with the shimmer combination, it's totally gorgeous. No kidding.
Now here's the part where I regret messing with my mani, I should have just left it alone. I didn't really need to add anything to make it look pretty, i just couldn't help myself!
I stamped over it with Pueen Encore SE03A & SE04A and Mundo de Unas 21 & 56.

Do you own this polish yet? If you don't, well I highly recommend this pink! And you could buy this directly from Girly Bits or their retailer, you can find the list of distributors on this link.

Swatches: Girly Bits Man Size Love

Taking a break from nail art, today I'm showing you swatches of one of my untried! I have been wearing this one on my toes, and since it's flip flop season now it's so distracting to see my toes sparkles when I was outside. I literally stopped talking and stared at my toes as I was walking! The bf just looked at me and shook his head, 'distracted by shiny object?' he asked. LoL!

The polish I'm talking about here is Man Size Love by Girly Bits, it's a beautiful periwinkle blue with shimmer and holographic effect, also called shimolo- Girly Bits' unique finished, it also has aqua glitter in it. You'll see in one of the pic the glitter pop up between all the holo sparkles.
I didn't find any issue with application, you could totally getaway with two coats, but I used three thin coats here and top coat.

First outdoor sunlight pics I've taken for my blog post this year!

NOTD: Girly Bits No Such Thing As A Purple Problem

Today's NOTD post is a stamping over glitter gradient. This combination is always seem to be my go-to when I need something easy but not looking too boring.
The star of this mani is one of my new Girly Bits, No Such Thing As A Purple Problem, a new addition to their core line that was released with the latest collection, 80's Girl Bands.

No Such Thing As A Purple Problem is a grape purple jelly filled with holo micro glitter and gorgeous shimmer. It's my kind of polish! It was a bit patchy in first coat, but the second coat totally even it out.
I sponged Razzle Dazzle in about 1/3 part of the nails on the tips then top coat it to give a smooth surface to stamp. I used the image from MoYou Pro Plate Collection 01 and Mundo de Unas Black, then finished it with another coat of HK Girl top coat. Although I used 2 coats of top coat here (before and after stamping), 1 coat is enough to give a smooth finish.

If you're a micro glitter lover, or just love anything sparkly or purple, then you NEED this polish! Harlow & Co. will be restocking this within this week (as this post is written), and you could also buy this directly from Girly Bits.

Swatches: Girly Bits Neutron Dance & Supersonic

I'm back! Today I have 2 of the new Girly Bits 80's Girl Bands collection. I picked out almost half of this collection, and right now I'm showing you the 2 crelly, Supersonic and Neutron Power. I really like every single bottle I got, even thinking to get 2 more that I skipped on pre-order.
I'm really impressed by this collection and Pam's creativity. This collection made me look up all the inspiration used in creating these polishes. Yes, I admit.. I'm not familiar at all with these 80's band, my love for music started in the 90's.

Let's look at pictures, shall we?

Neutron Dancea flourescent pink crelly base with neon pink, yellow and green hexes and squares, accented with silver holo sparks. This is one of those pinks that I love and wish it would look good on me as it is on the bottle. I had no issue with application, the glitter distributed nicely in the bottle and I was able to get a decent amount of random glitter on the brush on every dip. It was opaque in 2 coats, but I used 3 coats out of habit. The glitter made the finish a bit bumpy, so top coat is definitely needed. I used 2 coats of Clearly on Top.

Girly Bits Neutron Dance

Girly Bits Neutron Dance

Girly Bits Neutron Dance

Supersonica neon lime green jelly with golden and blue shimmer, and tiny blue flecks. This one is a win for me between the two! It's bright without looking too blinding, and the shimmer is just gorgeous! I notice this dries slightly slower than Neutron Dance, I had to wait a bit longer between each coat. I used 3 coats and 1 coat of Clearly on Top.
