Born Pretty Store QGirl-033 Plate Review & Nail Art

Hi guys! Recently I received several stamping plates from BornPrettyStore to review. So today I'm creating a nail art look with one of the plates, I'm also mixed it up with some chevron vinyls cause for some reason I kept messing up my stamping today and ran out of patience to keep re-doing them.

The design I picked for today's mani is the zigzag one at the bottom of the plate as pictured above. I had no problem with picking up the image itself, and I really like a few other designs from this plate. I just wish they didn't place the designs so close to each other like that. But, if you're stamping with Mundo de Unas, a quick lift with scotch tape on the stamper for the part you don't want will fix the problem.
You can find this Qgirl-033 plate in this link, and you can also use my code NVG10 to take 10% off your total purchase.
The polishes I used in this mani are KBShimmer Blush Money, KBShimmer Rust No One, ILNP Mega, and Picture Polish Monroe

Comparison Post: ILNP Cutie Pop vs KBShimmer Blush Money

Hi guys! A quick comparison post today for you. I totally forgot that I wanted to compare these two after I swatched Blush Money, then a kind reader asked and reminded me of it. So here they go..

In a glance, these looks similar. But not until you put them side by side and take a closer look, then you'll see that one of them leans more pink while the other is a straight up peach.
I can safely say that these two are not dupes. Both has the same gorgeous gold shimmer, and that's pretty much the only thing they have in common.
ILNP Cutie Pop has a creamy formula, while KBShimmer Blush Money has a more squishy, jelly-ish formula. I used 3 thin coats for both of them in the swatches below.
I should add that Cutie Pop gave me a slight stain after wearing it for around 3 days, but I'm not saying that it will definitely stain for everyone. It's possibly a body chemistry thing.

Hope this helps!

ILNP Masquerade (H) & Pueen 83

Hi guys! Are you relaxing and enjoying your weekend? I am! So much that I almost didn't want to change my mani, but 3 days is long enough and I need to see something different on my nails.
I broke out one of my untried polish, ILNP Masquerade (H). I bought this last year and forgot to wear it, that's what happened when I put away my new polishes in the melmer right away, they are forgotten. I pair Masquerade (H) with a simple stamping using Pueen 83 and Mundo de Unas Black. I love it! Quick and easy.

I always have trouble narrowing down pics when posting multichrome polish, so enjoy (or scroll fast).
Masquerade (H) has a decent formula, a bit thin but applies easy and doesn't pool on the cuticles. I needed 3 coats for full opacity. The colour-shifting is not as strong as Sirene or Birefringence, but it's definitely there!

Swatches: My Picks from ILNP Spring & Summer Collection

Hi lovelies! Today I'm sharing swatches of the rest of my new ILNP from my last purchase (I already did Sirene (H) in this post). I received a 25% off code that's good for a day, and since the Fall collection hasn't released yet and the pre-order has closed, I picked shades from Spring & Summer collection that caught my eyes. Also check out the nail art I did with these shades in the previous post.

I'm starting with Bikini Bottoms from Summer collection. It's a magenta pink linear holo  and blue flash that makes this extra special. I used 3 thin coats and top coat, first coat was patchy but it leveled up nicely on the third coat.

The rest of the shades are from the Spring collection. Here's Cutie Pop, this is my surprise favourite of the bunch! The subtle gold shimmer on this rosy pink holo is absolutely stunning! It also has the best formula out of the 3 pastel holo I chose. I used 2 coats and top coat.

Charmingly Purple, a bright pastel purple holo that's right up my alley. This shade has tiny bits of holo particle (or whatever Barbra put in it!) that make this not completely flat looking indoors. I noticed when I removed the polish, there are tiny sparkles stuck all around my nails. I used 3 thin coats and top coat.

Last one, Princeton. A mint green holo. The holo is a tad subtle but it's definitely there. The formula is the thinnest compared to the rest I have here and gets patchy really easy when I'm not careful. But I made it work with 3 coats, and it's worth it.

Pastel Diamond

Hello, hello! It has been quiet around here, if you noticed. I was quite distracted last week, but now I'm back and ready to post more nail art and swatches :)
Today I'm playing with some of the new ILNP (I Love Nail Polish) I got from the spring collection. I know.. but it's already fall, you say. First of all, I don't wear my polish based on season, I wear anything, anytime I want. And it's spring somewhere, right? haha.

This is a quick and easy design, done with scotch tape and striping tape. I started this mani with 2 coats of Cutie Pop. Then I placed 2 pieces of striping tape forming a narrow chevron, or a V shape, and 2 more pieces of striping tape placed from the middle of both V lines towards the opposite end of the nail, forming a diamond shape in the center.
Next step, I placed scotch tape on both outer side of the V shape, leaving a little bit of space, you can also choose to use striping tape for this, just have to be careful when doing the next step to not go over the lines.
Then I painted over the tape with Bikini Bottoms, and Charmingly Purple for the accent nail, and remove the tapes right away when the polish is still wet, top coat, and we're done!

NoTD: I Love Nail Polish Sirene (H)

Today I have a gorgeous multichrome by ILNP, I just got this with a few others that I will show you another time. I was planning to do some nail art today, but as soon as I put this on, I just couldn't bring myself to cover it up with anything else. Not tonight anyway :p
Sirene (H) is one the multichrome with the strongest colour shift, this one is the upgraded version of the original Sirene, with addition of holographic sparkle. It shifts in any lighting, from green to blue, violet, and red.
Formula was great, thin but easy to control. I used 3 thin coats and top coat. I couldn't narrow down the pics much more than this, so get ready for lots of pics :)

Chesire Cat

I don't know if you noticed, I haven't done any detailed free hand nail art in a long time. The longer I stopped doing it, the scarier it is for me to start again. Seeing all the beautiful creative nail art from this year's 31 day challenge made me want to try it again and see if I can still work my brush, it took some getting use to the first time.
My inspiration came from watching the series Once Upon a Time, all kinds of fairy tale characters came in mind but I thought I start with something less intimidating, Chesire Cat. I googled the character and came upon a strangely beautiful version of Chesire Cat, and used it for my inspiration.
I wish I had done the details better, but I'm still liking this very much!

Ikat(ish) Chevron

What do you do to get over bad mood? I watch tv shows, chick flicks with happy ending (I would know cause I watch the same movies that I like over and over again). I don't usually do my nails, fail nail art won't cheer me up. But today I did. It looks good from an arm length. Close up on the pics, not so much. The brush strokes doesn't look quite like ikat. But I kinda like it.

Glittered Sniffany

Hi guys!!

Today I'm wearing a simple mani, started with just a plain cream, Sniffany from I Love Nail Polish. It's a beautiful classic tiffany color. The formula is pretty good, a bit streaky at  first coat but even out completely on the second coat.
Then I looked at my little stash of glequins that I've never touched. I got them from a night market months ago. So I decided to practice on my glitter placement. Be kind, ok? ;). It's a bit tricky to plan ahead if the design I wanted to make would fit in all nails, or how to tweak them so they still look close enough.

I only used one thick coat of top coat here. They would need 2 cot to get a really smooth surface, but I'm almost on my last drops of HK Girl top coat and won't get the new bottle until tomorrow. So this will have to do! Also, I really need better lightning when doing my nails! I always notice the parts that needed more clean up when I was editing the photos (argh!).
Hope you have a good Monday!

Swatches: ILNP Sweet Serenade

Hi guys!

Today I'm showing you another polish from my untried stash, Sweet Serenade from I Love Nail Polish brand. I just noticed most of my new polishes are blue, in different shades and finish. I must really like blues! :p

Sweet Serenade is a multichrome effect polish, but to me it's a little different than most of the color shifting polish I have. It's definitely not crazy shifting like Birefringence, where you can see multiple color on the nails at once. But it does change color in different lightning or in different hand positions. I noticed that after I finished painting my nails and went to do something in the kitchen, and of course it distracted me from what I was about to do, lol.
I used 3 thin coats of the polish and HK Girl top coat here. Most of the time it just looks blue, but on occasion I did see it turn to green or purple. The blue and violet sparkles add a little something to the finish.

Swatches: ILNP Purgatory

Hi guys!

Sorry for the lack of posts these days. I'm still on house sitting duty, and don't even have my computer with me. But I've done some swatches before I leave and saved up some blogging material, this is one of them ;). Aside from blogging, I'm kicking myself for only bringing 7 polishes for 3 weeks away from home. 7? What was I thinking?! Lol.

Anyway, this pretty I'm showing you here is Purgatory from I Love Nail Polish. The creator described this as an eerily deep and dark teal polish loaded with the perfect combination of sparkle and multichrome effect pigments.
Might be just me, but the base looks like a deep dark blue to me. It looks darker on the nail than in the bottle. The shimmer is showing nicely under a bright light, but indoor (which has poor lightning btw) I couldn't see any shimmer at all.
Formula is great and very opaque. Could almost pass as a one coater for shorties, but I used 2 coats and HK Girl top coat here. I'm thinking this would be a good stamping polish. My only concern is this might be a stainer. I've only worn this for swatching and removed it right after, and saw a very slight stain. So I suggest a double base coat for this, just in case.
