Stripey Chevron

Hi guys! I have a nail art that I wore for the weekend on this post, plus a quick pictorial for this manicure. This mani is inspired by a dress, which I will be showing in one of the pics. It's quite a fun look, and you could always do it in a different color combo. So many choices!

What you need:
3 shades of polish,
I used OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around, OPI 20 Candles on My Cake, OPI Euro..Eurso
Striping Tape
Nail Vinyls, I used chevron minis vinyls

Paint the base color, wait until completely dry before starting the next step. I used a quick dry top coat to speed up the process.
Place 2 pieces of chevron mini vinyls horizontally in the center on the nail.
Place striping tape over the chevron tips on both sides, make sure there is no space between the tape and nail so polish doesn't spread under the tape. Put more striping tape towards to cuticle and tip (as pictured)
Paint over the tape and vinyls, one color on the half top and another on the half bottom.
Pull the tape and vinyls immediately while the polish is still wet.
Clean up (if necessary) and top coat. Use a generous coat to get a smooth finish and to prevent smearing. I used HK Girl top coat.

Twin Post with PJ's and Polish - Rainbow Mani

Today's post is the first for me. Debbie (from PJ's and Polish) and I planned to do this -twin post a little while ago, and now it's finally live! We're calling this a 'twin post', but instead of doing the exact same mani, we picked a theme and do our own interpretation of it, and the theme is, as the title says, Rainbow Nails! We're both also using chevron minis from Nail Vinyls.

Debbie is one of my close friend in nail polish and blogging world, I'm so stoked to do this twin post with her. She does beautiful swatches, go and see for yourself, and also check out her version of our Rainbow Nails here.

Here's my version. I used a total of 8 colors for this (not including the white base).

I started this mani with a 3 colour gradient over a white base, yellow (Zoya Darcy), blue (Zoya Yummy), and purple (Picture Polish Wisteria), and top coat it before I start with the vinyls. I placed 4 mini chevron vinyls on each nail to create a small zigzag pattern and fit more colours. As the lines are pretty thin, I used a small brush to fill between the vinyls. The shades used are OPI Red My Fortune Cookie, Picture Polish Totes, KB Shimmer Honeydew List, Picture Polish Sky, and OPI Push & Pur-Pull. I just got a fresh new bottle of INM Northern Lights, so I just had to use it! Sparkles make everything 10x better!

Hope you enjoyed the post!

NOTD: Picture Polish Flirt

Hey there! I started this week with an easy and fun looking manicure, and I chopped down my nails. I hope you don't mind looking at my shorties.
The base color of my mani today is piCture pOlish Flirt, a super creamy magenta pink. The formula is perfection! My swatches here was with 2 coats, although the second coat wasn't really necessary. If you're like me, you'll find yourself 'ooh' and 'aah'ing over this. I'm such a sucker for great formula cream polishes, which is why I love piCture pOlish so much. So far, none of their creams have let me down.

After wearing my nails plain overnight, I decided to do a little nail art. I paired Flirt with another piCture pOlish shade, Sky. I did the zigzag pattern with the help of Nail Vinyls chevron minis stickers, and used dotting tools for the rest of the nails. Finished off with KB Shimmer Clearly On Top top coat.

Crown French Tips

HI guys!

I have another NOTD post for you. I needed a bright nails after wearing 2 neutral shade mani in a row. Today I'm rocking a juicy orange from OPI Brazil collection, Where Did Suzi's Man-go? And of course I couldn't just leave it as is, but I wanted something quite simple and chic.
I really like how this orange shade looks on my skin tone. Using a striping tape and chevron guide from Nail Vinyls, I created this funky french tip that shaped like a crown (at least that's how it looks for me lol). The color I used for it also from the same collection, Don't Bossa Nova Me Around. I love the contrast and clean look of this mani.

KB Shimmer Teal Another Tail

Hi guys!

I caught a lazy bug. It's pretty chronic that I didn't even change my mani in 2 days (which is like a week in my world), and what's even worse, I had 3 huge chips on my nails that I didn't bother to fix. It's that bad. Today is still not my day. Believe it or not, it took me 2 hours to get my nails completely done. Somehow I kept screwing things up! Note to self, do not attempt to do nail art in this kind of day. Lol!

Anyway, I'm wearing this gorgeous KB Shimmer shade, Teal Another Tail, that I got from Harlow & Co. on their recent restock. It looked amazing on the bottle, and translate beautifully on the nails. I added chevron accent on two nails with the help of Nail Vinyls

NOTD: OPI Gwen Stefani Glittery Chevon

Happy Sunday!

I had fun swatching my OPI Gwen Stefani yesterday, I decided to not get the 2 I missed. So I'll be posting swatches soon. But first, I want to show you a chevron mani I made with 3 of them using the chevron stickers I just got from Nail Vinyls. You should check it out btw, she's also on Instagram under the name @teismom. They are really easy to use, she recommends using tweezer for applying and removing the guide, I didn't use tweezer and still find no issues with it.

The polishes I used here are 4 in the Morning and In True Stefani Fashion, and then I used 3 mini chevron guide on each nail and paint over them with a generous coat of Hey Baby. I waited until they are completely dry before applying top coat, I used HK Girl from Glisten & Glow. For Canadian, you can get it from Nail Polish Canada, free shipping!

Hope you enjoyed the post!

Sparkling Chevron Mani

Hello :)

I posted on my facebook yesterday that I couldn't do Watermarble Wednesday, cause I'm away from home, and I only bring a few polishes with me. I put on China Glaze Aquadelic last night and thought I'm gonna do a chevron mani with some of the polishes I have with me.

Polishes used here are China Glaze Aquadelic, a bright aqua blue creme, great formula, opaque in 2 coats and has a good shine finish. The first chevron layer is OPI Ski Teal We Drop, this is one of my first OPI. It is an awesome dark teal, great formula, almost a one coater, which means it's also good for stamping, another plus for me ;). And lastly, the glitter.. can you guess? I've given a clue on the post title. It's Orly Sparkling Garbage! I love the polish as much as I love the name, I think it's funny, lol. I don't think my pics give this glitter enough justice, it's SO sparkly and beautiful in person.

I hope you enjoyed this post. I won't be doing much nail art until next week, but I have some polishes I want to show you, they're pretty special. Stay tuned ;)
