Neon Splatter

I don't what went through my mind when I decided to do a splatter mani. I think I've done it once before, or maybe just attempted to. It was such.a.big.mess! Although, the result looks kind of fun, if you don't mind a messy look.
I wanted to use a strong holo as the base, I was debating between Color Club Harp on It or Beyond, and went with the silver one. I used 5 different neon shades for the splatter, Models Own Sun Hat, Flip Flop, Color Club East Austin, OPI Juice Bar Hopping and Push & Pur-pull.

I thought this would be a fun mani for my weekend, but now I'm not so sure if I want to keep this. What's your weekend mani?

Cotton Candy Nails

Happy Monday! I think I'm having monday blues with this gloomy weather we have here today. And the cure for that, other than a cup of hot rolo, is to have pretty colours on my nails!

The sponged base really reminds me of cotton candy, I just love it! The base I mean, though I also like cotton candy. The colours I used for the base are OPI Do You Lilac It?, OPI Mermaid's Tears, OPI What's With The Cattitude, China Glaze Feel The Breeze, China Glaze Sun Upon My Skin, and Color CLub East Austin, done over Cirque Carpe Diem.

I can't stop staring at my nails! Love these so much, all that clean up was so worth it! Lol!
Hope you guys enjoyed it too :)

Pastel Rainbow Roses

It's Friday again! So the nail art I'm sharing today is gonna be my weekend mani. It's another stamping decals combined with some free hand. I made the decals days ago, I knew I'm gonna want to wear this for more than a day or two.
The rose image is from Pueen 80. I love the roses in that plate, and the rose image I used fits almost perfectly in my nails (I used the smaller rose image on the right side of the plate).
I stamped the roses with Mundo de Unas black, and filled in the decals with a small dotting tool and various pastel shades as follow, China Glaze Feel The Breeze, Strike a Rose, Shore Enuff, Sun Upon My Skin, Maybelline Day Glow Teal, Lime Accent, Color Club Pucci-licious. I added a coat of INM Norther Lights to make them look a bit magical ;)
I placed the decals over a white base, I used Cirque Carpe Diem. The rest of the nails are painted with China Glaze Sun Upon My Skin. I added some free hand leaves and vines using OPI Christmas Gone Plaid and Shore Enuff. Sealed the mani with HK Girl top coat.

This mani makes me wish for spring to come already! Have a great weekend guys, see you all on Monday! <3

Lovely Paisley

I'm on a nail art kick! Hope you guys don't mind :) Today's nail art is a free-handed paisley pattern. I have wanted to do this for a while, and I'm so happy this first one turned out so good. Uhm, well..at least I think it's good. I freaking love it! The color contrast makes the pattern really 'pop'.

The base of this mani is piCture pOlish Violet Femme, a gorgeous deep violet cream. The paisleys were painted over a white base, I used OPI Put A Coat On, to make the lighter colors more opaque. I used piCture pOlish Swagger, Chillax, OPI Do You Lilac It?, Banana Bandanna, and Color Club East Austin. I finished the mani with one coat of HK Girl top coat.

Weekend Glittery Gradient

Hi guys! Hope you're enjoying you weekend, I sure am! :) I'm rocking this fun and colorful gradient mani that I reeeally love. Gradient is probably my favorite kinda nail art, easy to do, although I admit I hate doing the clean up. But seeing the result makes it all worth it.

I use a make up wedge to do my gradient, over a white base. Instead of using Northern Lights or Fairy Dust like what I usually do with my gradient, I chose a chunkier glitter as a topper. I will list all the colors I used at the end of the post.

Here's the gradient without the glitter. I like them either way :)

OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls

St, Patrick's Day Nail Art

I'm always glad when there's a theme that I can use as inspiration for a nail art, less thinking to do. This is my first St. Patricks day mani, and I tried to incorporate everything I can think of related to this holiday. Shamrock, rainbow, pot of gold, and a leprechaun holding a beer (just in case you couldn't make out what I tried to paint there, lol. It's a sad attempt). I only noticed while editing the pics, that the rainbow on my index don't aligned with my middle nail. Not a big deal, I know.. Still, it bugs me, but I'm too lazy to take another pics :p

The background is a saran wrap mani using blue and white polishes over a white base. Here's the list of all polishes I used for this mani:
OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls
OPI Red My Fortune Cookie
OPI Jade is The New Black
OPI You Don't Know Jacques
OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby
Zoya Thandie
Zoya Darcy
Zoya Josie

Zoya Chantal
Zoya Taylor
China Glaze Liquid Leather
China Glaze Fairy Dust

Have a fun long weekend and have a Sham-Rocking Day!! (just in case I'm not posing on Monday)

Random Tribal Print

Ok, I didn't really know what to call this mani. So I'm calling it that. I didn't really have anything specific in mind (or maybe too many and I can't decide), I just wanted to do some free hand nail art. So I just started with a blank white canvas and went from there. I almost removed them because I thought it looked like crap, but I decided against it, and just added more colors. In the end, I'm glad I didn't remove them. I quite like them :).

I used mostly OPI in this, and a few from other brands like Zoya, China Glaze, and Color Club. I will list the products I used at the end of the post. I used Berkeley small detail brush for the design, and my trimmed brush I got from Michael's for the black doodles .

Stamping Over Rainbow Artsy Backround (with Tutorial)

Hi guys!

Today I have a colorful stamping mani, and a tutorial for you. I've had request to do tutorial for the background of one of my valentines day mani, here. Which is great, cause I was planning to do one myself, just wasn't sure if there's any interest. You'll see that it's really easy and it makes an awesome background for your nail art, or you can just wear it as is or maybe add some fairy dust to it.
In my previous mani, I used several shades of pinks and red, and a purple. This time I'm using rainbow colors, my favorite! I also stamped over them with Pueen 47 plate and my thick and goopy CND Blackjack. I'm so happy I didn't throw it out, it turned out to be an excellent stamping polish!

The polishes I used here are: OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls (white base), OPI Hey Baby, Zoya Darcy, Zoya Josie, Zoya Ricky, Color Club Pucci-licious, and HK Girl top coat.

Here's the step by step pictorial:

(not pictured) Paint all your nails with a white polish, and let it dry.

  1.  Drop a blob of each color you used on a tin foil. The brush I used here is a flat nail art brush. Also, set aside polish remover on a small dish to clean your brush
  2. Over a dry white base, with the first color (here it's pink) randomly do a one stroke with your brush creating several rectangle shape. Do it vertically and horizontally. You might need to dip the brush in remover and wipe it dry on a paper towel before moving to the next color.
  3. Repeat step 2, with the second color (Here it's purple). You can overlap the stroke with the existing ones.
  4. Repeat step 2 with color #3 (here it's green).
  5. Repeat step 2 with color #4 (here it's blue).
  6. Repeat step 2  with color #5 (here it's yellow).
  7. After I did step 2 with all the colors, I went back and repeat the same thing on some of the rectangles, using just light strokes just to make the white background not too visible. This step is optional, if you're happy with how it looks, then you can skip this step.
  8. Do the clean up (if needed), and add top coat. I like to add top coat right away after I finished each nail. Adding top coat while the polish is not completely dry, kinda soften the brush strokes. But this is also optional.
And that's it!

You can use whatever colors you like, there's no right or wrong in doing this. Which is why I like it a lot. I hope my explanation is clear enough, and if it's not, feel free to shoot me a question in the comment :)
What do you think? Will you be trying this?

Holographic Rainbow And Dots

Hi guys!

Last night I wanted to use one of my special polishes, my nails were all clean and prepped, but then I couldn't get the lid to open. I put it under running hot water for a few minutes, twice! And it still stuck. I hate when that happen.
So, a random idea for a mani popped up, and this is what they turn out.. I have to say, I always ended up liking my unplanned mani better!

I used China Glaze Liquid Leather as the base for all nails. Then I did a sponged gradient on my ring and middle finger using Color Club Miss Bliss, Kismet, and Over The Moon. Then I did a dotticure using the same color for the rest of the nails. Got myself a new bottle of HK Girl that I used to seal off the mani, my first bottle was already really low, it's a little thick, but still usable, I'm SO amazed by this top coat!

What do you think? Do you like this holographic gradient? I do! Very much :)

Holo Spam: Color Club 2013 Halo Hues

Late night post again..

I'm feeling very uninspired today, so I decided to just spam you all with these holo goodness. I've had both Color Club Halo Hues collection for a while, and didn't think to make a swatch post for them. So here it is..

For all holo lover out there who still hasn't got this, I strongly recommend you to get them. The best linear holo for the price range! Seriously, they look amazing even under minimal lightning. All the swatches here are 2 coats without top coat. I've worn them with top coat before, and it didn't dull the holo. No special base coat needed, excellent formula, I didn't experience any streak or balding. Anywho, I'll just let the pics speak for themselves.

Color Club Cosmic Fate

Color Club Kismet

Color Club Over The Moon

Color Club Miss Bliss

If you're looking to get your hands on these beauties, I believe Llarowe and Nail Polish Canada has them in stock.

Rainbow And Clouds On The Blue Sky

Hi guys!!

Are you sick of seeing gradient mani yet? I hope not! I think I have a gradient fever for now, and what is it with me and the need to use so many colors in one mani?! Lol. I guess I picked an appropriate name for my blog :p

For the (supposed) sky, I did a blue gradient using 4 shades of blue (OPI What's With The Cattitude, Zoya Yummy, OPI Ogre The Shrek Blue, OPI Eurso..Euro). I used Bundle Monster plate 312 for the clouds, stamped with OPI Alpine Snow.
The rainbow gradient on my thumb and ring fingers was made with Zoya Yana, Zoya Rocky, Zoya Josie, Color Club Pucci-licious, topped off with INM Northern Lights.

Soo.. yesterday I received my order of nail art brushes set (along with some striping tapes). I immediately looking for ideas on what I can do with them. Well, a lot, I'm sure! But I've never used nail art brush before, and had no idea which for what. I did some google research, and decided to just practice and learn to use them as I go.

I chose to do some tribal print mani. Honestly, it is not my favorite nail art look, it seems too busy and complicated. But I want to try it anyway. And here it is...

Products used:
OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls
OPI Party in My Cabana
OPI Pink Friday
China Glaze Aquadelic
OPI Jade is The New Black
Color Club Pucci-Licious
Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac

I want to show you my nail art brushes. It's a set of 15, 14 different brushes and 1 dotting tool. I purchased these from BornPrettyStore for only USD 5.96, free shipping worlwide, and if you use this code NVG10, you will get 10% off your purchase. Awesome deal, right?!

So, what do you think of my tribal print mani? Love it? Hate it? I know I still need to improve my detailing skill, and I will! ;)
