Cotton Candy Nails

Happy Monday! I think I'm having monday blues with this gloomy weather we have here today. And the cure for that, other than a cup of hot rolo, is to have pretty colours on my nails! 

The sponged base really reminds me of cotton candy, I just love it! The base I mean, though I also like cotton candy. The colours I used for the base are OPI Do You Lilac It?, OPI Mermaid's Tears, OPI What's With The Cattitude, China Glaze Feel The Breeze, China Glaze Sun Upon My Skin, and Color CLub East Austin, done over Cirque Carpe Diem.

I can't stop staring at my nails! Love these so much, all that clean up was so worth it! Lol!

Scaled Gradient - Fonteyn & Fotheringhay Castle

Hi guys! After several super bright and colorful mani I did recently, I find myself steered toward a more neutral shades when picking the polishes to use for my mani today. 
My first pick was A England Fonteyn, then I chose Glam Polish Comet Storm to layer over it , and A England Fotheringhay Castle to use in the scaled gradient. This was a quick mani, done in about 30-40 mins. I consider it quick for a nail art look. I quite love the result too! 

I just love looking at the flakie up close, so pretty!

Happy Halloween!

Trick or treat! No candies here, but how about I treat you with my NOTD for halloween instead? Yes? Awesome :D 

I have such mixed feelings about this mani. I love the gradient in the background, but the clean up was such a pain and I couldn't even get them all nice and clean. I used 4 OPI shades for the gradient, Suzi & The 7 Dusseldorfs, Juice Bar Hopping, Where Did Suzi Man-go?, Good Grief!. The plate I used here is Bundle Monster BM-H06, which also happen to be the only halloween plate I have, gifted by Nail Polish Canada. 
I screwed up this mani so many times I almost wanted to just take them off and forget about it! I had to redo the gradient on two nails cause I nicked them with my nail. Then I accidentally stamped the pumpkins on my index when I wanted to do my middle nail.That really threw me off from what I wanted to do, hence the weird looking blue stamping that look like they don't belong there. Lol! But my thumb is awesome, my favorite part of this mani!

Mani Swap With Copycat Claws

Hi guys! I have an exciting post for you today. As you can see from the title, I'm doing a mani swap with one of the talented blogger, Serene from Copycat Claws. We both started our blog last year, I was a few months earlier than her, and I think we both have grown so much in out nail art skills. I love how creative Serene is with her stamping, you should totally follow her if you haven't already!

It was hard to pick which one of her mani that I want to recreate, I love so many of them! But I have a limited amount of stamping plate, and didn't find one that I could use. So I chose one of her free hand nail art from the 30 Day Challenge last month, from 'Inspired by Artwork' day. She did a beautiful job on her nails and on a canvas!

And here's my recreation..

 I used different polishes for the gradient background cause I don't have the shades she used. My gradient is with piCture pOlish Flirt and Peaches n' Cream. The tree branches and birds are painted with KBShimmer Eclipse. Details on the birds and flowers are using Butter London Cotton Buds, OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue, KBShimmer Hugs & Wishes, Radiant Orchid. I sealed the design with Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.

What do you guys think? Did I do her artwork justice?

NoTD: OPI Watermarble & Gradient

Hi everyone! Are you ready for a long weekend? I sure do, even though we might just be staying in and watching netflix, I'm good with that. 
I'm on a nail art block lately, but didn't feel like rocking a plain nails. So I turn to a simple water marble nails, I haven't done one in a while and I don't have to think much other than finding a colour combo, perfect. I randomly picked 3 OPI cremes, a mix of summer and fall shades, and they spread wonderfully! 

The OPI shades I used are Miss Youniverse, You are So Outta Lime, Sorry I'm Fizzy Today. I did water marble on two nails and gradient of the same colours on my pinkie and index.

piCture pOlish Violet Femme & Hot Lips Gradient

Happy hump day! Today I'm sharing you a mani that I have been wearing since Monday night. It's just a simple gradient with floral stamping accent nails, but I absolutely love these colours together in a gradient! I keep wondering why it took me so long to pair up these two. I had some trouble taking accurate pics of this mani cause it's so bright and my camera kept making the pink looked soft, nowhere near what I see in person. So I tried my iPhone, and surprisingly it did a better job in capturing the brightness. 

I sponged piCture pOlish Hot Lips and Violet Femme over Butter London Cotton Bud. The daisies print is from MoYou Pro plate 15 stamped with Mundo de Unas white.

Field of Flowers

First off, let me say this again.. I suck at painting flowers. They are really a hit and miss, mostly missed :p. Late last night I had the urge to do another floral mani and I went for it. Well.. Let's just say the only thing I love about it is the colour palette. 
I did the base gradient with China Glaze Metro Pollen-tin and Sun Upon My Skin. For the rest, I kinda grabbed them randomly from my drawer and forgot to list what they are (oops). 

Sorry about the mess, I guess I didn't get them all during clean up. Only noticed it when I edit the pics! Hope you enjoyed it more than I did, these didn't stay long on my nails.

Zigzag Gradient

Today's mani is just a simple used of striping tape, makeup sponge and several bright shades. I'll keep the post short. The shades I used here are OPI Sorry I'm a Fizzy today (very fitting for me today), OPI Where Did Suzi Man-Go?, OPI You are So Outta Lime, OPI Can't Find My Czechbook. Butter London Cotton Bud for the white base, and China Glaze Glistening Snow for the sparkly lines.

Orange in July

Hi everyone! As the last post in July, I'm working with a bunch of bloggers in the group I'm in, called Proud Beauty Bloggers of Colors, presenting 'Orange' as this month's theme. You might also find a beauty blog in the link up below. 

For my orange mani, I did a simple nail art, kinda an impromptu idea since my original one will incorporate more colors and I'm not sure if I can show orange as the star of the mani. Sometimes the unplanned ones are the one I ended up liking more. The orange shade I chose for this mani is OPI Where Did Suzi's Man-Go?

I did an orange+white gradient on three nails, and stamp over them using Mundo de Unas White and Pueen Encore plate SE04A. The two accent nails are a negative space using squiggle vinyls from Beyond The Nail. I used two thick ones and one thin vinyl in the middle. I have always avoided doing negative space because my nails are so stained it's horrible! Now they are in a much better shape, but just in case they're still showing the stain, and I don't want to hurt your eyes, I minimized the naked part by adding dots. They're kinda cute, don't you think?

Twin Post with PJ's and Polish - Rainbow Mani

Today's post is the first for me. Debbie (from PJ's and Polish) and I planned to do this -twin post a little while ago, and now it's finally live! We're calling this a 'twin post', but instead of doing the exact same mani, we picked a theme and do our own interpretation of it, and the theme is, as the title says, Rainbow Nails! We're both also using chevron minis from Nail Vinyls.

Debbie is one of my close friend in nail polish and blogging world, I'm so stoked to do this twin post with her. She does beautiful swatches, go and see for yourself, and also check out her version of our Rainbow Nails here.

Here's my version. I used a total of 8 colors for this (not including the white base).

I started this mani with a 3 colour gradient over a white base, yellow (Zoya Darcy), blue (Zoya Yummy), and purple (Picture Polish Wisteria), and top coat it before I start with the vinyls. I placed 4 mini chevron vinyls on each nail to create a small zigzag pattern and fit more colours. As the lines are pretty thin, I used a small brush to fill between the vinyls. The shades used are OPI Red My Fortune Cookie, Picture Polish Totes, KB Shimmer Honeydew List, Picture Polish Sky, and OPI Push & Pur-Pull. I just got a fresh new bottle of INM Northern Lights, so I just had to use it! Sparkles make everything 10x better!

Sorbet Gradient with OPI Neons

Hi guys! After swatching the OPI Neons, naturally I felt the need to do some nail art with these bright colors. So today I did an easy one. Gradient. I'm always tempted to do gradient when I see colors like these. 

I did the gradient over 2 coats of Put A Coat On!, and used 5 of the Neons. The one I didn't use was Down To The Core-al. Then I added stripes as an accent using You Are So Outta Lime, I thought it looked interesting. But it's more because I want my favorite shade to stand out :p
I finished everything with one coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.

Oldies But Goodies: OPI DS Original & DS Glamour

Hi guys! Today I have two of my most treasured polishes used for a simple gradient. If you don't already know, DS Original and Glamour are some of the most coveted OPI. These are my first holographic polishes before holo polishes are dime a dozen like these days. 
Both of them have a very strong linear rainbow effect worn on their own. My light box photos here don't show too much of the rainbow, but trust me they are amazing! I can't wait to see it out in the sun tomorrow. The formula is thin, you would need 2-3 coats for opacity depends on your nail length. The only thing I don't like is the super strong smell.

I started my gradient with 2 coats DS Original on all nails, then just do the usual sponging method. Finished off with KB Shimmer Clearly On Top.

Easter Eggs Print Skittle Gradient

I think it's about time I started to do a pastel-springy-easter themed nail art, right? I prepped my nails yesterday, and couldn't think of what to do. This seems to happen to me a lot lately *sigh* Anyway, I decided to go with something simple today. Sometimes less is more, right? 

I did  pastels and white gradient, skittle style, as the top of easter eggs. On the bottom part are various easter egg prints, painted with a slightly darker shades from the gradient. All the products used will be listed at the end of this post.

Weekend Glittery Gradient

Hi guys! Hope you're enjoying you weekend, I sure am! :) I'm rocking this fun and colorful gradient mani that I reeeally love. Gradient is probably my favorite kinda nail art, easy to do, although I admit I hate doing the clean up. But seeing the result makes it all worth it. 

I use a make up wedge to do my gradient, over a white base. Instead of using Northern Lights or Fairy Dust like what I usually do with my gradient, I chose a chunkier glitter as a topper. I will list all the colors I used at the end of the post.

Here's the gradient without the glitter. I like them either way :)

Spring Stamping & Gradient

Hi guys!

Today I'm playing with MoYou plate again. It was unplanned actually, I was only wanted to do a gradient, but then I got carried away.. lol. Anyway, I really like how it turned out. Makes it feel like spring already!

For the gradient I used Girly BIts Get Weaponized and Razzle Dazzle over a white base, and stamped over it using plate 09 from Suki Collection with OPI Alpine Snow. I used a coat of HK Girl top coat before and after the stamp.

Just the gradient :)
