Swatches: My Picks from ILNP Spring & Summer Collection

Hi lovelies! Today I'm sharing swatches of the rest of my new ILNP from my last purchase (I already did Sirene (H) in this post). I received a 25% off code that's good for a day, and since the Fall collection hasn't released yet and the pre-order has closed, I picked shades from Spring & Summer collection that caught my eyes. Also check out the nail art I did with these shades in the previous post.

I'm starting with Bikini Bottoms from Summer collection. It's a magenta pink linear holo  and blue flash that makes this extra special. I used 3 thin coats and top coat, first coat was patchy but it leveled up nicely on the third coat.

The rest of the shades are from the Spring collection. Here's Cutie Pop, this is my surprise favourite of the bunch! The subtle gold shimmer on this rosy pink holo is absolutely stunning! It also has the best formula out of the 3 pastel holo I chose. I used 2 coats and top coat.

Charmingly Purple, a bright pastel purple holo that's right up my alley. This shade has tiny bits of holo particle (or whatever Barbra put in it!) that make this not completely flat looking indoors. I noticed when I removed the polish, there are tiny sparkles stuck all around my nails. I used 3 thin coats and top coat.

Last one, Princeton. A mint green holo. The holo is a tad subtle but it's definitely there. The formula is the thinnest compared to the rest I have here and gets patchy really easy when I'm not careful. But I made it work with 3 coats, and it's worth it.

Pastel Diamond

Hello, hello! It has been quiet around here, if you noticed. I was quite distracted last week, but now I'm back and ready to post more nail art and swatches :)
Today I'm playing with some of the new ILNP (I Love Nail Polish) I got from the spring collection. I know.. but it's already fall, you say. First of all, I don't wear my polish based on season, I wear anything, anytime I want. And it's spring somewhere, right? haha.

This is a quick and easy design, done with scotch tape and striping tape. I started this mani with 2 coats of Cutie Pop. Then I placed 2 pieces of striping tape forming a narrow chevron, or a V shape, and 2 more pieces of striping tape placed from the middle of both V lines towards the opposite end of the nail, forming a diamond shape in the center.
Next step, I placed scotch tape on both outer side of the V shape, leaving a little bit of space, you can also choose to use striping tape for this, just have to be careful when doing the next step to not go over the lines.
Then I painted over the tape with Bikini Bottoms, and Charmingly Purple for the accent nail, and remove the tapes right away when the polish is still wet, top coat, and we're done!

I Love Nail Polish line can be purchased directly from their website www.ilnp.com, they ship worldwide! :)

Guest Post at Manic Talons

Hi everyone! Today I'm guest posting over at Michelle's blog, Manic Talons. She is one of a blogger friend that I'm happy to know online. Her blog is mostly about gel polishes and nail art done with/over gel polish, although there are some indie swatches as well. If you're interested in knowing more about gel polish, definitely check her out, you won't regret it! Also show her some love on her Facebook and Instagram.

And check out the mani I did for her over here.

Marc Jacobs Secret Love With Gold Roses

Hello Monday! Today I am wearing a recycle mani from the weekend. I survived about a day and a half wearing a plain creme :p but no more than that. Had to add something to it!
Anyway, the creme polish I'm wearing, as you can see from the title, is Secret Love, from Marc Jacobs. A glossy, opaque eggplant purple creme. It looks darker on the nail, almost blackened. Nice formula, I used 2 coats here.

For the nail art. I stamped a rose image from Pueen Encore set plate SE03A using Mundo de Unas #17 (gold). For my middle and ring nails, I placed several pieces of striping tape in random, and quickly layered it with Max Factor Fantasy Fire, OPI gold top coat (The Man with The Golden Gun), OPI 18K White Gold & Silver top coat, and a matte top coat. I removed the tape right away, and just leave it like that. It has a bit of textured finish, but not too bad since all the gold flakes lay flat. I layered the thumb with the white gold top coat.

Hope everyone has a good start of the week!

Soda Stripes with OPI Coca Cola Collection

Today I have a simple stripes manicure using some of the shades from OPI Coca Cola collection and striping tape. I find these three shades work so well together! At least they do here. Polishes used are Sorry I'm Fizzy Today, Green On The Runway, and My Signature is DC.
I started with Sorry I'm Fizzy Today as the base and place the tapes once the base dried. Since some of the lines are quite thin, I used a nail art brush to fill in the space. Better control and less clean up. That silver is such a pitb to clean up! Haha, the tiny silver bits are so stubborn! One good thing about it, the silver works well for tape mani like this, even though it dries faster than the rest, I still get a really crisp line.

NoTD: I Love Nail Polish Sirene (H)

Today I have a gorgeous multichrome by ILNP, I just got this with a few others that I will show you another time. I was planning to do some nail art today, but as soon as I put this on, I just couldn't bring myself to cover it up with anything else. Not tonight anyway :p
Sirene (H) is one the multichrome with the strongest colour shift, this one is the upgraded version of the original Sirene, with addition of holographic sparkle. It shifts in any lighting, from green to blue, violet, and red.
Formula was great, thin but easy to control. I used 3 thin coats and top coat. I couldn't narrow down the pics much more than this, so get ready for lots of pics :)

Chesire Cat

I don't know if you noticed, I haven't done any detailed free hand nail art in a long time. The longer I stopped doing it, the scarier it is for me to start again. Seeing all the beautiful creative nail art from this year's 31 day challenge made me want to try it again and see if I can still work my brush, it took some getting use to the first time.
My inspiration came from watching the series Once Upon a Time, all kinds of fairy tale characters came in mind but I thought I start with something less intimidating, Chesire Cat. I googled the character and came upon a strangely beautiful version of Chesire Cat, and used it for my inspiration.
I wish I had done the details better, but I'm still liking this very much!

Blue Marbles with piCture pOlish Forget Me Not

Today is a special day for me, and the polish I'm wearing today quite represent it, especially by the story behind it. It's Forget Me Not, a gorgeous blue with scattered holo flakes created by piCture pOlish in collaboration with Kate, from Lacquertude blog. You can read all about what inspired her and her gorgeous swatches in this post.

Knowing me, you don't think I'd be wearing this plain, do you? :p I created a marbled look with regular water marble technique using Forget Me Not and a white polish (OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls). Whenever I do a water marble, I always try to make a uniform design on each nails as much as I can. But this time I dunk my nails in a different spot every time in order to get the marble look.

Here's a swatch of Forget Me Not on its own. It's really stunning!

Oh, by the way, today is my 3 years anniversary with the bf. See what I mean that this is the perfect polish for the day? ;)

Swatches & Review: (part of) KB Shimmer Fall Collection

Hey all! With fall season in the corner, you should be seeing more collection of fall shades coming out from your favourite brands. Might it be indie or mainstream. The collection consists of 9 new shades, plus a re-release halloween shade from KBShimmer's vault, 'Jack'. This collection has something for everyone, glitter, holo, and creams finishes. Katie from Harlow&Co. was kind enough to send me one of every finish from this collection for me to review.

I have more photos and details after the jump below ;)

Girly Bits Mint-al Precision

Hi guys! Today I have a new Girly Bits polish to share with you. It's one of the new collaboration shade created for Tiffany from Polished to Precision on her first blogaversary. You totally should check out her post for this shade (and others, she does amazing swatches of a lot of mainstream & indie brands) HERE.

One thing that I totally agreed from her post, well no, two things actually. That this is a gorgeous shade and it's a royal pain to photograph. No matter what setup I used, the pics keep showing it more blue when it's really not this blue. You definitely will see the green shade in person. I promise.
Mint-al Precision is an aqua mint shimmer filled with blue-green shifting flakes. The formula is a tad on the thick side for me, but still easy to apply. I used 3 thin coats and top coat here.

This is now available to order from Girly Bits, and soon will be available from distributors such as Harlow & Co. and Llarowe.

Subtle Watermarble

Oh hey, it's already Friday again?! Well, I'm wearing a fun sparkly mani today. Perfect for the sunny weather we have today. I'm using two Glam Polish shades I'm Through with Love and Bye Bye Baby to create this look, with addition squiggly vinyls from Beyond The Nail and for the water marble, I used OPI Pinking of You and OPI top coat for the clear part.

Monochromatic Stripes

Today's mani is just a simple stripes of blues. When I said simple, I didn't mean it's easy or quick, lol. I used 6 different blues and free handed them using a nail art brush. They are not perfect, especially when you're looking at them up close here. In person though, they looked pretty awesome ;)

Polishes used starting from tips: piCture pOlish Sky, OPI Can't Find My Czhechbook, Zoya Yummy, piCTure pOlish Swagger, Nails Inc Baker Street, and OPI Eurso..Euro for the thin lines.
