OPI Taylor Blue Swatches and Fly Comparison

Hello!

Today I have for you, OPI Taylor Blue. This is a shade made exclusively for Taylor's Gift Foundation. It is an organ donor organization inspired by Taylor Paige Scorch, click here for full story and more information.

OPI Taylor Blue
OPI Taylor Blue. This shade looks more teal in person, and not as blue as the picture here shows. Unfortunately, my camera refused to pick up the green in it.

I have been wanting to do comparison of Taylor Blue and Fly, curious to see how close are they in person. Here they are..

Bottle shot
Pinky&middle: Taylor Blue; Ring&index: Fly

It's really hard to tell which is what in person. Fly is just sliiiiiightly darker and the formula is a bit thicker than Taylor Blue, but both are easy to work with. I used 2 medium coats and 1 coat of Poshe for the swatches.

If you missed out on Fly, from Nicki Minaj collection, this would be a great choice! Or just get it anyway, like I did ;) It's for a good cause. You can order(and donate) for Taylor Blue here.

And lastly, since I'm always tempted to layer my cremes, I had to do it too this time :). I think I've found the perfect undies for Lynnderella I don't Mean Rhinestones!

Hope you enjoyed the post!

Femme Fatale Eventide

Hi All! :)

Just a quick post today to show you what I'm wearing today ;) I have a VERY blingy nails right now, seriously, my nails look too fancy to go groceries shopping.

For the undies, I used a NOPI shade I recently purchased, Mer-maid For Each Other. It is a Target exclusive shade. I almost forgot that this exist, until I went to Target that has just opened nearby. This is 2 coats without top coat.

Nicole by OPI Mer-maid for Each Other
I did not have application problem with this glitters, although I did have to fish a bit for the large square glitters. I used 2 coats of Eventide for these pictures. I had a little trouble taking the pictures under artificial lights, as you can see in the next two pics. They are just too sparkly!

Femme Fatale Eventide

This one is taken under natural lights, and it's showing the glitters much better.

Femme Fatale Eventide
Femme Fatale polish can be purchased directly from Femme Fatale Cosmetics if you reside in Australia. For international ladies, it can be purchased from Llarowe.

Femme Fatale Winter Hyacinth Swatches

Happy Monday!

Today I want to show you the swatches from one of the many.. many indie polishes I have purchased in the past month, Winter Hyacinth from Australian indie polish maker, Femme Fatale. It is a light teal crelly base with white hexagon & diamond shape glitters, fuschia hexagon and smaller round glitters.

Femme Fatale Winter Hyacinth
Application was quite easy, considering it has medium size glitters, no fishing or dabbing necessary. I did, however, shake the bottle before using and a few times while painting my nails. For these pics, I used 3 coats without undies, and topped with 2 coats of Poshe.

Pastels Striping Mani

Hi All!

First of all, I have to admit, I suck at creating titles or theme! So, cut me some slack here, lol. Anyway, I just bought striping tape, and couldn't wait to try it out.

I started with 2 coats of OPI Mermaid's Tears and Lucky Lucky Lavender as the base, and OTD Northern Lights for some subtle sparkle.

I really like the result! And I sure will be trying more designs in the future. You can get striping tape from Born Pretty Store, or ebay, just punch in 'striping tape' tons will show up.

Hope you enjoyed this post, and have a great weekend!

Late Night Stamping

Hi All!

It's pretty late here and I was feeling bored. So, I decided to play with my nail polish and do some stamping. It has been a while since I stamped.

I used OPI Live and Let Die, Color Club Kismet, and China Glaze Glitter All The Way for my pinkie. For the stamping plate, I used Konad M56, and finished everything up with a coat of Poshe.

NOTD: Illamasqua Vice

Hi All! :)

Today I'm trying out my first Illamasqua polish, Vice. It is a deep reddish pink with rubber finish.

Illamasqua Vice - Natural Light

Illamasqua Vice - Natural Light
Illamasqua Vice - Artificial Light
I quite like this rubber finish, much better than matte finish. But I do like matte finish achieved from a top coat, is that weird? lol. The formula of this is amazing! Now I'm wondering how their creme polish is like. I used 2 coats for pictures above.

Here are the look with top coat, taken under artificial light.

Anyway, I'm still experimenting with my hand 'pose', still can't decide which one I will be using as my signature post yet. Maybe you can tell me which one you like the best? :)

Half Moon Mani With Some Bling!

Hello again! :)

Today I want to show you all my half moon mani. I used the shades from OPI Euro collection for this mani, Eurso Euro, My Vampire is Buff, and Seche Collage Overlay.

Sorry about the oily fingers! I take my photos near the window, and I'm losing the light, so I just want to get it done as fast as possible :)

Seche Collage Overlay has holographic hexagon glitters, larger white hexagon glitters, and holographic bar glitters. As you can see, I only used the holographic hexagon glitters here. I used my smallest dotting tool to pick and placed them on the nails. Love how they turned out!

I used 2 coats of My Vampire is Buff, 1 coat of Eurso Euro, and 1 coat of Poshe. I probably should have used Gelous before Poshe, since I can still feel the bumps where I placed the glitters.

So, what do you think? What's on your nails today?

My Weekend Mani: Easy Dotticure with Zoya Stunning

Happy Monday!

Hope everybody had an awesome weekend! Just a quick post to show you what I am wearing for my long weekend! :)

I started with Zoya Rocky as the base, layered with INM Northern Lights top coat for a subtle spark.

Zoya Rocky
I couldn't decide for a while what I wanted to do with it, tried tape mani and ended up didn't like it. I had to redo my base color, which made my cuticles look a bit dry and icky on the next pictures, sorry about that! I decided to go with a simple dotticure using colors from Zoya Stunning collection, you can see all the swatches here.

I'm quite happy with the result, simple but colorful. Just the way I like it! :) But I woke up the next day, and thinking "hmm.. maybe these would look better mattified.." So I did it, and I love it even more!

Mattified!
So, what do you guys think? Do you like it better glossy or mattified? I left my other hand glossy so I can have both looks and compare them whenever I want, lol.

Hope you enjoyed the post!

Ps. I just added Bloglovin, so don't forget to follow me! :)

Zoya Stunning Collection Summer 2013

Hi Everyone!

Today I am back with Zoya's Stunning collection for Summer 2013. Let me tell you, this is the first time for me to get the entire collection in one purchase! I usually just pick a few ones I really like. But the colors look so bright and fun, I just couldn't resist!

Zoya Josie
Zoya Josie. Green is not usually my go to color, but I definitely can see myself wearing this again soon. Application was easy, I used 2 medium coats here + 1 coat of Poshe.

Zoya Rocky
Zoya Rocky. This is a deeper shade of baby blue. Very pretty. But I'm a sucker for blue, especially light blue like this. I used 2 medium coats here + 1 coat of Poshe.

Zoya Yana
Zoya Yana. This one is much more vibrant in person. Zoya describes this as geranium pink, and I couldn't agree more. I used 3 thin coats here, and another extra coat for my ring and middle finger to cover my blue-stained nails, no top coat.

Zoya Micky
Zoya Micky. This one is looking a lot more pink and bright in person. I'd like to say that this is a bubblegum pink with a tiny hints of coral. Somehow the name makes me think that Micky is Yana's sweet but naughty little sister! I used 2 medium coats here, but also needed an extra coat to cover up my stained nails, no top coat.

Zoya Thandie
Zoya Thandie. I always love citrus orange shade. Bright and fun, makes me think about happy things :) I used 2 medium coats and an extra thin coat for my stained nails, no top coat.

Zoya Darcy
Zoya Darcy. The last and my personal favorite of the collection! This is just the perfect amount of yellow for me. Application was pretty easy for a yellow, I find medium coats are easier and less streaky than thin coats. This is 2 medium coats, and an extra thin coat for my ring and middle finger + 1 coat of Poshe.

Overall, I love this collection! Just what I was expecting from Zoya, formula wise. I did, however, have some problem with polish dripping to the brush and onto my nail if I'm not careful. So, which one(s) is your pick from this collection?

I hope you enjoyed the post! Happy long weekend!! (It's a long weekend here in Canada)

And it begins with.. Zoya Summer Pixie Dust: Beatrix and Stevie

Soo.. after postponing it for so long, here I am, starting my very own nail blog! I have been thinking about which nail polish I should start with, and I decided to start with Zoya Pixie Dust that I just received today. I've been curious about these ever since they released their first Pixie Dust collection, which I don't have any (yet!). I have other mainstream brand textured polish, and I love them! And I'm happy to say, I love Pixie Dust! I only got 2 of their summer collection, but I really want to get at least 2 more, and a few from the previous collection.

Ok, enough talk and let's get to the pictures, lol!

Zoya Beatrix

Zoya Beatrix. I used 3 thin coats for this picture, without base coat/top coat. I like the color itself, but it doesn't really go with my skin tone. Although the sparkles could convince me to leave it on.

Zoya Stevie

Zoya Stevie. This is love at first sight for me. I also use 3 thin coats for this picture, without base coat/top coat. I think this shade is so feminine, but doesn't make you look too girly (if that make sense!lol)

Both these polishes have that sugary sparkle that makes me craves for candy! Which one(s) is your pick from this collection?

I purchased these from Nail Polish Canada, retails for C$9.75 ea, but you get free shipping for order $25, plus their customer service is AH-mazing! If you reside in Canada, you should definitely check them out.

How did I do on my first post? ;) Any critiques and/or suggestions are welcome!
