My Picks of OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 Collection

Hi guys!!

I'm a little late to the party with this collection. Just got six of them as my birthday present (yay!) I got six out of the 18 shades they released, there are 2 or 3 more that I wanted but they weren't in stock. Almost all of my picks are very sparkly, I think I'm seeing little stars when I looked away from my nails while I was swatching them. Lol!

Here's a little preview, more pics after the jump. There are lots of them!

Under The Mistletoe, a jelly based red filled with micro glitter. It's showing more sparkles in the bottle than on the nails, but they are still quite visible to me, and I love it! Reds are never my number 1 pick of any collection, so it's saying a lot. Swatches are 2 coats with top coat.

I Snow You Love Me is a clear base filled with silver holographic round glitter. I gave a lot of thought in getting this one, based on the reviews I have seen. But to my surprise, when I saw the bottle, there are no sinking glitter in it. So I took a chance and get it anyway. What you see here is just one coat, applied with the brush and not placed manually. I was quite surprise myself! I always had enough glitter within each dip. Although I don't really like the glitter spread here, at least it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Here's I Snow You Love Me layered over Under The Mistletoe.

My Favorite Ornament is a gold champagne colored glitter. I think this is meant to be worn on its own. Super sparkly!! It reminds me of Zoya Tomoko. Swatches are 2 coats with top coat.

Wonderous Star is a more sheer and gold version of My Favorite Ornament, with some black hexes. I think this is a unique one from OPI. Swatches are 3 coats with top coat. I'm curious how it would look as a layering polish..will try that next time!

Kiss Me at Midnight is a blue textured polish with silver glitter. At first glance I thought it would be similar with OPI LS Get Your Number, but nope they are not close at all. Swatches are 2 coats, first photo is with top coat and the rest is no top coat.

It's Frosty Outside is a metallic silver textured polish. SO sparkly!! You might need 2-3 coats for opacity depending on your nails length. I'm using 2 coats here. First photo is with top coat, and the rest is without top coat.

There are SO much sparkly silvery gold and reds in this collection, I was hoping for more color variety. But, I still love all the ones I got. Which one(s) is your favorite from this collection?

  1. Gorgeous swatches, but none of these stand out for me. Originally I considered I Snow You Love Me, but i'd rather just by round holographic glitter and place it myself.

The only one I really want from this collection is Ski Slope Sweetie and sadly it was already out at my Winners. Will have to check it again later and hope it comes back.
